Group Tours

Our group tours are open to everyone, families, individuals and small groups. They are organised with fixed departure dates, itineraries and prices. We will allocate places on a tour until that tour is full, generally the maximum is 16 passengers. When booking you may chose for us to book your flight for you or alternatively you can arrange your own international travel. Two prices are given for every group tour departure: 'flights included' and 'land only.'

The standard price of the tour is on a twin share basis, if you are travelling in a couple you can request to be roomed together if you are travelling as an individual you will be roomed with another group member of the same sex. Alternatively you may which to pay a supplement and guarantee a single room throughout the tour. The price for this supplement varies from tour to tour and is shown on the booking form.

All group tours are accompanied at all times by an experienced local tour leader.

Other Tours

All other tours on our website may be booked by individuals, families or groups. Please call or email us if you are interested in any of our itineraries and we will put together a quotation for you based on your requirements.

Insurance

All passengers must have a full comprehensive insurance policy. Diverse Earth insurance is INCLUDED in the tour price on all group tours (you can find details here). If however you would prefer to use a different insurance company please insure that your policy covers you for every day of your holiday, covers the area you are travelling to and any activities you will be doing whilst on the tour.

Local Guides

To get the most out of a tour its best to use local guides for city tours, historical sites, safaris etc. this not only gives you the traveller expert information and allows you to meet local characters but also helps to provide employment for local people. At the same time we are also aware that having free time to explore your chosen destinations is also very important. We have tried to find a balance combining free time with guided tours, the tours are also designed to be flexible so that a guide is on hand should you want one but you may also sight-see unaccompanied if you wish. Local guides are always local to the area, fully trained with a wealth of experience.

Tour Leader

An experienced and highly trained Tour Leader will accompany all group tours at all times. They are there to ensure the smooth running of the tour, assist at train stations, border crossings, airport check-ins etc. as well as acting as interpreter and providing background information on your chosen destination. Your Tour Leader will be on hand to help at any time during the tour, they will speak the local dialect, know the tour itinerary inside out and be in constant contact with our offices as well as local agents and suppliers. Our Tour Leaders are not only there to support the group, they also always know where the best places to go are!

Transport

International flights can be booked by us and included in the tour price. Where possible we will offer more than one flight option allowing you with some flexibility with regards to cost and timing. If our flights do not suit your needs please let us know and we will do what we can to arrange an alternative.If you would prefer to book your own flights please select the ‘Land Only' price when booking and ensure that you book your flights in good time before the tour starts. Domestic flights will be booked with reputable airlines in economy class.

Road transport used on our tours will depend on the group size, as a general rule groups of up to 4 will travel by car or, on rougher roads, by 4x4 jeep. Larger groups will travel by either an 18-seater or 35-seater coach. All coaches are air-conditioned and less than 7 years old. Train travel will always be in first class air-conditioned carriages.

Accommodation

The standard of accommodation is generally high but does vary greatly from tour to tour. In larger cities and areas with well established tourist infrastructure we tend to use 4 star hotels. In more remote areas we will use the best that is on offer but this may well be a simple guesthouse. All accommodation is however clean and comfortable, where possible we will use locally owned hotels and guest houses to ensure that we are supporting local businesses. On each itinerary you will find the type of accommodation used each night mentioned in brackets.

Meals

On most tours breakfast is the only meal that is included; this gives the traveller more freedom to choose when and where they take their meals. On some tours however certain resorts or game lodges are booked as an all inclusive package, this is usually because they are in a remote location such as National Park or, in the case of our Ayurvedic tours, a special diet is recommended. What meals are included is mentioned on each tour itinerary.

Tour literature

When you have chosen and booked your tour we will send you some tour literature to ensure that you are fully prepared before leaving the country. This will include the day-to-day itinerary, a ‘what to bring' list and travel tips, a hotel list and local contact number should you encounter any problems.
