This exciting tour takes in the highlights of Argentina including the cosmopolitan metropolis of Buenos Aires, the magnificent Iguazu Falls and the Los Glaciares National Park. Two days will also be spent on a working cattle ranch, learning about the Estancia from seasoned gauchos.

Day 1: Depart UK

Depart UK and fly overnight to Buenos Aires.

Day 2: Arrive Buenos Aires

On arrival the group will be met at the airport and taken to our hotel in Buenos Aires. There will be a full briefing at the hotel from your tour leader, depending on flight times there may be chance for an orientation tour of the city before dinner. Overnight in Buenos Aires (hotel) Meals: dinner

Day 3: Sightseeing in Buenos Aires

This morning the students will enjoy a tour of this impressive, colourful city from the cobbled streets of La Boca to the grand architecture of Plaza de Mayo. In the evening there is the chance to watch a spectacular dance display at one of Buenos Aires many Tango venues. Overnight in Buenos Aires (hotel) Meals: breakfast, dinner

Day 4: Buenos Aires to Estancia

Today the group will drive out of the city to an Estancia on a working cattle ranch. This will be their home for the next few days. On arrival there will be an orientation tour by horse drawn carriage around the 300 hectare ranch. In the evening the students can try the famous Argentine barbeque. Overnight at the Estancia (dormitory) Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 5: On Estancia

Today the students will explore the ranch in more detail, this time on foot. The gauchos will teach the students all about ranch life and they will get to try their hand at some of the day to day activities on the ranch. The ranches are also great places for bird watching and trekking. Overnight at the Estancia (dormitory) Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 6: Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls

This morning the group will return to Buenos Aires from where they will take a short, domestic flight to the Iguazu Falls. In the afternoon the students can enjoy a guided tour of the trails on the Brazilian side of the Falls, offering amazing views. There is also an option to take an exhilerating boat ride on the lake beneath the Falls. Overnight at Iguazu Falls (Hotel) Meals: breakfast

Day 7: At Iguazu Falls

This morning the students can explore the Falls further with a guided tour on the boardwalk trails. The lower trail will take them very close to the Falls from the base of the gorge whilst the upper trail winds its way along the top offering incredible views of the surrounding forest. Day 8: Iguazu Falls to El Calafate

Today the group will take a flight to El Calafate via Buenos Aires. El Calafate is positioned on the southern shores of Lago Argentino, the largest lake in Argentina and close to the Los Glaciares National Park, home to an incredible 356 glaciers! Overnight in El Calafate (Hotel) Meals: breakfast.

Day 9: Visit the Perito Moreno Glacier

Today we have included a full day tour of the world heritage site - Perito Moreno Glacier. Of all the glaciers in the National Park this is the most spectacular. An 80km drive will take the students through beautiful, mountainous scenery to the foot of this immense galcier. From here the group will take a boat  across the bay, taking in the viewing points around the glacier. Here the students will be able to see the continuous process of ice carving and hear the thundering sounds as huge blocks of ice break away from the face. Late afternoon transfer back to El Calafate. Day 10: Visit Upsala Glacier and Lake Onelli

Today the students can enjoy a full day tour on and around Lago Argentino. Leaving from Punta Bandera Port you will sail north among amazing blue icebergs and spectacular mountain ranges until you reach the stunning Upsala glacier, an area of 955 square kilometres. From here the tour will continue through picturesque beech forest to Lake Onelli whose surface is dotted with hundreds of icebergs. Overnight in El Calafate (Hotel) Meals: breakfast, lunch

Day 11: El Calafate to Buenos Aires

This morning the students will return to the domestic airport for the flight back to Buenos Aires. This evening your tour leader will take the group out to one of Buenos Aires famous restaurants for a delicious farewell dinner. Overnight in Buenos Aires (Hotel) Meals: breakfast, dinner

Day 12: Tour ends

Today a transfer will be provided to take the group back to the international airport for the homebound flight. Meals: breakfast.
