A wonderful tour for divers and nature lovers. Lakshadweep is one of the most incredible dive destinations in the world, due to the remote location of the islands they remain a tropical paradise. Just off the South-Indian coast in the Arabian Sea Lakshadweep consists of 36 gem-like islands 12 atolls and 3 reefs. The blue waters contain a myriad of tropical fish, turtles dolphins and even a couple of ship wrecks. We have combined this dive package with the relaxing trip around Kerala’s famous backwaters and two areas of out standing natural beauty.

Day 1: Arrive Kochi

On arrival at Kochi airport a transfer will be provided to your hotel in Kochi, depending on flight times there may be chance to see some of the sites in Kochi such as the Santa Cruz Basilica; built by the Portugese in 1557 or the Dutch Palace. Overnight in Kochi. (Hotel)

Day 2: Kochi - Agatti - Bangaram

Early in the morning we will take you to Kochi airport for the flight to Agatti Island (1.5 hours) and from there you will take a magical boat ride (2 hours) across the turquoise Lakshadweep Sea to your destination on Bangaram. It is possible to do your first dive this afternoon. Overnight Bangaram (Resort)

Day 3: On Bangaram

The next few days will be spent at your resort on Bangaram, we have included a package of 6 dives (exclusive of equipment hire) which can be done at anytime. Additional dives can be bought direct from the resort. Other activities available on Bangaram include: deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, catamaran sailing, excursions in the glass-bottom boat and wind surfing. The wonderful fresh seafood on Bangaram is also worth taking time over.

Day 7: Bangaram - Agatti - Kochi

Today you leave Bangaram by boat and return to the airport on Agatti Island. You will be met at Kochi airport and taken to your hotel. In the late afternoon there will be some time to explore the pleasant city of Kochi perhaps a walk through Jewtown to see the Pardesi Synagogue or a stroll through the colourful spice market. Day 8: Kochi - Alappuzha

This morning you leave Kochi and head south to Alappuzha (1.5 hours drive) to the land of the famous backwaters. On arrival in Alappuzha you will board your private houseboat and set off through the maze of narrow waterways and lakes, this is time for total relaxation, to appreciate the enchanting scenery and watch daily life along the backwaters. Your trip passes through exquisite areas of palm trees, rice paddies and lakes. Overnight on backwaters. (Houseboat)

Day 9: Alappuzha - Kumarakom

After breakfast on board the houseboat you disembark at Kumarakom where you will be taken to your hotel. The day will be spent at the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary beautifully positioned on Vembanad Lake, as well as being a place of natural beauty the bird sanctuary is an important site for migratory birds and a paradise for bird watchers. The view of the lake at sunset is particularly captivating. Overnight in Kumarakon. (Hotel)

Day 10: Kumarakom - Periyar

After breakfast we drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The reservoir, made here by the British in 1895 meanders through the deciduous forests providing a continuous water supply for the local wildlife. A boat trip on the reservoir is a great way to view wildlife, especially elephants that come to the water’s edge to bathe. The sanctuary is also home to Bison, Deer, wild boar, 4 species of primate, around 40 tigers, and 265 bird species. In the surrounding area there are many spice plantations such as tea, coffee, cardamom and sandalwood, in the afternoon we shall organise a spice tour of these plantations with a local expert guide. Day 11: In Periyar

This morning you will head out very early on a jungle walk within the sanctuary, this is the most exciting way to see wildlife, walks are led by an experienced local guide and take around three hours, this is our best chance of seeing some of the more elusive animals in the reserve. The afternoon is free to relax, there is the option of unwinding with an ayurvedic massage. Overnight in Periyar. (Hotel)

Day 12: Periyar - Kochi

This morning we drive back to Kochi where our tour ends. Overnight in Kochi. (Hotel)

Day 13: Tour Ends

We will provide a transfer to Kochi airport. Fly from Kochi.
